Burt McGillivray
Burt is a career venture capital investor, with over 30 years investing in and managing portfolio companies ranging from technology startups to middle market acquisitions. He is the founder and managing partner of Cloquet Capital Partners. Burt was previously a managing director or partner with Continental Illinois Venture Corporation, Carlisle Enterprises, First Chicago Equity Capital, and One Equity Partners.
Burt brings expertise in strategic planning, investment structuring, acquisitions and financial strategy to the Cloquet portfolio. He is currently a director of FarmLogix, Qv21 Technologies, Micromatic, and Insight Management Group.
Burt has been a trustee of the Cardigan Mountain School since 2006 and is a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the National Center for School Crisis & Bereavement. He holds an AB in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. In his spare time, Burt loves to play hockey and golf, mountain bike, and rarely, to relax and read. He roots for the Chicago Blackhawks and all teams from Minnesota.
